Al Davis: Crazy as a fox….

As I follow the days events in NFL free agency I realize that there was one person who was a step ahead of them all….. Al Davis!! Not only did he lock up the core free agents that are needed for this Bully construction but he played the draft like a violin. Let me explain……

When the interview came for the introduction of Hue Jackson as the New leader of the Silver & Black he made it known that there are things to look at in either signing Nnamdi or letting him walk. He mentioned do you give him that huge contract or do you use the money in free agency. Now his game plan was already in progress for the 2011 season.

Nnamdi’s replacement (just in case he left as a free agent) search actually started last draft with the selections of McFadden & Ware then continued this past draft with Checkwa & Van Dyke. Now with 4 CB selections 1 of them has to be the air apparent.

Zack Miller is now listening to offers from Seattle as well as the Raiders. Now the 2 TE’s selected (Gordan & Ausberry) 1 TE from Miami and a big WR converted to TE from USC  was the 2 picks to cover their (The Raiders) A** just in case Miller hit the road. This has to be the genius of someone who has been there and seen it all to understand that not everything lasts forever.

Al Davis.. a true football mind that’s seasoned with all that this game has to offer. Some call him crazy some even say the game has past him by, but from my standpoint neither of the two is true cause for one Al is as crazy as a fox and is to far ahead of the game for it to pass him by.  Laugh all you want but in the end Mr. Davis will out laugh them all.

The man and his vision is one in the same....

…. GO RAIDERS!!!

Nnamdi signs with………….

Where will Nnamdi go?

After all the speculations of where Nnamdi will go I have this feeling stirring in my gut that the outcome will be one that will catch all off guard. I predict that he will sign with……. THE RAIDERS! The reasons are as follows. 1. Teams are making it rain on free agents from left to right but yet Nnamdi is still a free agent. 2. The Raiders haven’t made a move yet to sign a free agent and we all know the Raiders make at least one splash per year in free agency. 3. The money that is believed to be in the range of signing him is the $10-$14 Million( per year) range and that is cheaper than what the Raiders paid last year let alone what they would of had to pay him if he had at least one INT last year.
We know that the Jets want him along with the 49ers (Houston Texans removed from the Nnamdi sweepstakes). I don’t think he is interested in the 49ers for the fact that why would you go from 8-8 to 6-10 when the reasoning behind resigning with the Raiders two years ago was the light at the end of the tunnel not slipping into darkness?
So all in all it should come down to the Jets and Raiders with the Raiders favorites in the Nnamdi sweepstakes due to substance and loyalty that Nnamdi has. I would hate for him to make the Tiki barber mistake and leave a team one year too soon…….
